  1. What is Distance Selling?

    Distance Selling is the process where you can buy your vehicle away from our showroom or premises. This is your purchase online over the phone, email, or similar means there is no need to visit our dealership. The whole deal is done at a distance. The car will then be delivered directly to your home address. 

    Distance selling means that there is no simultaneous physical presence between the trader and the consumer at any time during the process, irrespective of the location

  2. What is Off-Premises Selling?

    Off-Premises selling is very similar to Distance Selling but it is made in your home or somewhere away from the Oodle Cars showroom and is where both parties are present at the same time.

    Even with an off-premises contract, where we might meet for the first time to finalise the deal, you as the customer still have the same consumer rights, including a 14-day cooling-off period.

    There is one major difference that further protects your purchase, and that is in an off-premises contract, Oodle Cars are required to provide a paper contract (or other durable media e.g. email) and we also will hand over a 'right to cancel' information pack.

  3. What legislation covers online purchasing?

    In the UK, you are covered under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulation 2013. This applies to both Distance Selling and Off-Premises selling. 

    This means that if you buy a car from us online, you have a 14-day cooling-off period to inspect and road test the car, with the right to cancel within 14-days of purchase, but conditions do apply.

    Oodle Cars are FCA accredited so should it be necessary (and we hope it never will be!) you can raise a formal complaint with the Motor Ombudsman

    Additionally, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 also protects your purchase where there is an issue relating to faulty or misdescribed goods and services. 

    Our Oodle Car Care Programme aims to mitigate any faults and provide you with a road-worthy vehicle with up-to-date servicing and MOT, as well as a RAC 12-month warranty and break down cover.

  4. Do I get the same warranty as a physical sale?

    Yes! All our cars are supplied with the same 12-month RAC warranty and 12-month RAC roadside assistance packages just as if you were buying in the showroom.

  5. Do I still need to negotiate with dealers?

    No! Now you can breathe that sigh of relief! The best thing about purchasing a car online is that you no longer need to worry about negotiating with dealers to secure the best price.

  6. Is it possible to talk to someone?

    Of course, whilst you can conduct the entire process online, we have a team of friendly agents ready to help you with any questions that you have about your vehicle. We are all about the best customer service, so we are always here for you.

  7. Is it possible to test drive the vehicle?

    The very nature of Distance and Off-Premises selling means you purchase online and the car is delivered accordingly. 

    However, under Customer Contracts Regulations 2013 you do have a 14-day cooling-off period after delivery which is designed to let you inspect and test drive the vehicle just as you would if you visited the showroom.

    If you are not completely happy with the car, then you can return it in line with our Terms and Conditions.

  8. How is the car delivered?

    Distance Selling is all about convenience, which is why our friendly team will deliver the vehicle directly to your home address, no matter where in the UK you are based. There may be a delivery fee which will be agreed at the time of purchase. 

    Delivery times are dependent on the availability of the vehicle, but any cars that are in stock will be delivered as soon as possible and you can choose a delivery slot that suits you. 

    If you are purchasing the vehicle using finance, then it will need to be delivered to the home address on your paperwork, however, if you pay in cash, then we can deliver to an alternative address. 

  9. How do I pay?

    Once you have found your perfect vehicle, you will be able to reserve it for a small reservation fee. You can pay for it by using a standard credit or debit card. 

    Should you wish to proceed the remaining amount can then be paid via a bank transfer or credit/debit card, and the entire process is protected as usual by the Consumer Credit Act

    We do also offer a wide range of competitive finance packages that you can choose from too. These packages have been designed to help as many of our customers as possible and are based around your personal circumstances. 

  10. What happens if I change my mind?

    If you have paid a reservation fee with us and you change your mind, the whole reservation fee is refundable.

    If you have bought online and choose to return the car your purchase monies will be refundable subject to our Terms and Conditions

  11. Do I need insurance and road tax?

    Yes! Purchasing a car online is exactly the same as buying one in a physical dealership, so before you drive it, you will need to ensure that you are fully insured and the vehicle is fully taxed. Your V5C logbook will be provided at the same time as the car is delivered. 

  12. What happens if the car is faulty or not as described?

    All of our cars undergo a strict and in-depth check before being sold, however, if you are not completely satisfied with the condition of the vehicle, or a fault develops, then get in touch with our customer service team. 

  13. How does the refund process work? 

    If you do not like the vehicle and would like a refund, then we will provide this, and our refund process has been built around your statutory rights as a consumer. Your rights have been safeguarded in our Terms and Conditions.

    For security reasons, we are only able to make refunds to the same account or card that the original purchase was made with.

  • Even during lockdown their customer service was excellent. An appointment was made when we could see the car at a time that would suit us. We were allowed to look around the car without any pressure. After we brought the car we were due to pick it up but the salesman said that he would deliver the car to us. Would defiantly buy from Oodle Cars again.
